When We Train

September to June:

  • Wednesday and Thursday evenings
  • 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • one weekend per month.

Full-time summer employment is available from May to August.

Mission Task

A number of Army Reserve units have been assigned specific Mission Tasks. Members within these units are trained in these specific capabilities and ready to be fully integrated, as a formed entity, into the Regular Force units that they reinforce.

The mission task for our unit is: Light Urban Search and Rescue – A troop of 35 members, which is trained in specialized rescue skills and the use of rescue tools, including search techniques, first aid, and structural integrity assessments, to provide support to civil authorities in situations of urban disaster emergencies.

15th Field Artillery Regiment, Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery, is an Army Reserve unit in Vancouver, BC and a part of the 39 Canadian Brigade Group (39 CBG). Our primary function is to augment the Regular Force on deployments both at home and around the globe.

We are a historic part of the Kitsilano community, and are always looking for intelligent, physically capable men and women to join our team.

When you join our unit, you will receive competitive pay for your part time or full time work as well as be eligible for on the job training that could benefit you in civilian life. Also, there are medical, dental and educational benefits available to Army Reservists.

Tuktoyaktuk and Inuvik, Northwest Territories — Climate change and technological advancements are two of the main factors making the Arctic increasingly accessible, and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) must be ready for potential safety and security issues as activity in the region increases.

Members of the Regiment have served on United Nations peacekeeping operations in Germany, Egypt, Cyprus, Croatia, Bosnia, Haiti, and most recently with NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Members had also served on Operation PODIUM, to provide security for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Members of our unit also participate in Op PALACI each year.
