116th Independent Field Battery, RCA in Kenora, Ontario, is a Primary Reserve unit part of 38 Canadian Brigade Group`s Artillery Tactical Group along with 26th Field Artillery Regiment, RCA, in Manitoba, and 10th Field Artillery Regiment, RCA, in Saskatchewan. Together, we recruit and train physically and mentally strong soldiers that can support Canada`s Defence Strategy.

We deploy soldiers on domestic operations (forest fires, floods, avalanche control, etc...) and expeditionary operations (Bosnia, Afghanistan, etc...) as well as support such local activities as Gun Salutes at the opening of the Legislature in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

When you join our unit, you will receive competitive pay for your part time or full time work as well as be eligible for on the job training that could benefit you in civilian life. Also, there are medical, dental and educational benefits available to Army Reservists.

The 116th Independent Field Battery, RCA originated in Kenora, Ontario on April 1,1908, when the 98th Regiment was authorized to be formed. It was redesignated: The Rainy River and Kenora Regiment on March 12, 1920; and The Kenora Light Infantry on September 1,1921.
