Together, We Can Improve the Lives of Canadians Across the Country

Every year, federal employees and retirees step up to support Canadians who need help the most. This year, more than ever, your support is needed.

In these difficult times, millions of Canadians are feeling the impacts of COVID-19 on all aspects of their lives. Our most vulnerable communities struggle with food insecurity, income loss, social isolation and serious illness.

Through the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC), as a federal retiree you can support HealthPartners, your local United Way Centraide or thousands of charities across Canada to help make a difference.

Over the past decade, you are part of the one million retirees who have proudly donated to the GCWCC— making it the largest workplace campaign of its kind in Canada.

Your generosity makes a difference. With your support, we can continue to be there for our communities.  Everyone deserves someone to turn to in their time of need. Please give now.

Help us foster a culture of generosity, now more than ever!

Did You Know?

  • Most Canadians — 82%— make a financial donation to charity.
  • Last year, federal retirees donated over $3.2 million through the GCWCC.
  • Every donation allows us to act now, and, in the long term, support those most impacted by COVID-19.

Why Give?

The GCWCC is an extension of what public servants do: improve the lives of Canadians. In 2019, public servants and retirees gave over $30 million to charities across Canada as part of the GCWCC. To see how donations make a difference, we invite you to read the following stories about people whose lives were changed by GCWCC donations. Together, we can have a tremendous impact on the lives of those in need.

Making the Most of Every Day

Kaiden was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at birth. He had to learn from an early age how to protect himself from germs. He also had to figure out why he was “different” from the other kids in his class and why sharing wasn’t always an option for him. His fight to survive mirrors much of what the world is experiencing today in the fight to control COVID-19.

Your vulnerable is my everything.”

- Kaiden, 10 years old

Giving New Meaning to His Life

“After I lost my job, money became really tight to a point where I couldn’t even afford food. An agency supported by United Way helped me make it through. For people living in poverty, including those struggling with mental health issues or homelessness, a healthy meal is really important to their well-being. But sharing a meal means a lot, too.”

- Alasdair
