Share your ideas: Proposed Amendments to the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Concentration Limits for Architectural Coatings Regulations
Current status: Closed
Consultation starts on October 17, 2022 and ends on January 13, 2023.
The Government of Canada is seeking your comments on the proposed amendments to the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Concentration Limits for Architectural Coatings Regulations and on any other opportunities to enhance the Regulations.
Background
These regulations were published in 2009 as part of the Government of Canada’s commitment to improve air quality for Canadians. The regulations set mandatory VOC concentration limits on products such as paints, stains and varnishes applied to a wide variety of stationary structures in residential, commercial, institutional and industrial settings.
Proposed amendments have been developed to achieve additional VOC reductions and clarify some existing regulatory provisions.
