UPDATE: The PMRA will be holding an information session for stakeholders, partners and the public on Monday, 11 December 2023, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. ET.

Further to the proposed amendments outlined in NOI2023-01, Strengthening the regulation of pest control products in Canada, this session will provide information on the approach to the cost-benefit analysis of the amendments and the implementation of the confidential test data proposal.

Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) invites the public to submit written comments on this proposal to strengthen the regulation of pest control products in Canada. Notice of Intent NOI2023-01 is a consultation document that informs Canadians, regulated parties, Indigenous organizations, and other interested stakeholders and partners that Health Canada is seeking feedback on proposed amendments to the Pest Control Products Regulations to strengthen the protection of human health and the environment, including wildlife, from risks posed by pesticides in Canada.

PMRA held a webinar for stakeholders, partners and the public on Tuesday, 25 July 2023, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. EDT.

The session provided an overview of the proposed amendments to the Pest Control Products Regulations outlined in NOI2023-01, Strengthening the regulation of pest control products in Canada.

Health Canada will make the results of this consultation available on this website. The input gathered through this process will be considered and inform any policy or regulatory measures that the Government may propose. Any future regulatory proposal would be published in the Canada Gazette, Part I and subject to an additional comment period, as per Government of Canada's Cabinet Directive on Regulation.
