PMRA Guidance Document, Revisions to Specific Residue Chemistry Crop Groups

Update 2023

Health Canada - Pest Management Regulatory Agency
July 2023

Summary

The purpose of this guidance document is to communicate to industry and other interested parties recent revisions to the Health Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency's (PMRA) Residue Chemistry Crop Groups.

This document is an update to several crop groups listed in Regulatory Directive DIR98-02, Residue Chemistry Guidelines. DIR98-02 was first made available to registrants and applicants of pesticides and other pest control products in June 1998. The revisions to the residue chemistry crop groups are an ongoing project that is expected to take a number of years to complete. To date, revisions to several crop groups have been published in Regulatory Directives DIR2009-01, DIR2010-01, DIR2011-02, DIR2014-02 and DIR2015-01 and in the Science Policy Note SPN2017-01. Notification of future revisions to the remaining residue chemistry crop groups will be published on an on-going basis, with a link to the Residue Chemistry Crop Groups table.

Document history (revision/update)

Revisions to specific crop groups moved from a series of Regulatory Directives to a PMRA Guidance Document in 2021. This PMRA Guidance Document will be updated as further revisions are made to the Residue Chemistry Crop Groups.
