Statement from Stephanie Cadieux on appointment to second term as Canada’s Chief Accessibility Officer

On May 12, 2026, Nathalie Provost, Secretary of State for Nature, highlighted 16 projects across British Columbia. These projects represent an investment over $272 million through the 2 Billion Trees (2BT) program to plant more than 95 million trees that will help protect nature and biodiversity in the province by restoring critical habitats for species at risk and wildfire affected areas and by supporting Indigenous-led reforestation efforts through tree planting. All projects were approved with funding prior to the Budget 2025 announcement to wind down the 2BT program.
