Eric Wildhaber was appointed as a temporary Member of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal for a three-year term beginning on July 25, 2022. He was reappointed as a temporary Member for another three-year term, starting on July 25, 2025.
Michèle Govier recently served as Director General of the International Trade Policy Division at the Department of Finance Canada where she oversaw Canada’s import policy and trade legislation, including the Customs Tariff Act, the Special Import Measures Act, and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act. Her key responsibilities included providing strategic advice to senior government officials on trade policy measures, implementing such measures, and leading trade negotiations. This included providing advice on the implementation of Canada’s response to U.S. tariffs and developing tariff relief to businesses.
Greg Gallo is currently the Senior Director, Trade Remedies Analysis and Chief Economist for the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada (ATSSC) supporting the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT). Between 2019 and 2022 he held the position of Acting Executive Director at the ATSSC to the CITT, the Competition Tribunal and the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Tribunal. Mr. Gallo recently returned to the ATSSC from an assignment as the Acting Secretary General to the Copyright Board of Canada.
Today, the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister responsible for Canada-U.S. Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, Internal Trade and One Canadian Economy, and the Honourable Steven MacKinnon, Minister of Transport and Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, announced the government will engage with Indigenous Peoples, provinces and territories, and the Canadian public on potential changes that would ensure federal reviews and decision-making timelines take no longer than one-year, once all information from the project proponent has been received.
