As part of the strengthened and modernized Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 (CEAA 2012) put in place to support the government's Responsible Resource Development Initiative, the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) commenced a federal environmental assessment of the proposed Coal Mountain Phase 2 Project, located in British Columbia.
The governments of Canada and Manitoba are announcing funding for the following six projects in the southeast region of Manitoba under the New Building Canada Plan's Small Communities Fund.
Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Denis Lebel, and Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier (youth and early childhood, anti-bullying) and Member of the National Assembly for Charlevoix-Côte-Beaupré, Ms. Caroline Simard, on behalf of Quebec's Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, Pierre Moreau, are pleased to announce that the 27 municipalities in Charlevoix, Côte-Beaupré and l'île d'Orléans will receive $26,176,880 over the next five years under the new federal-provincial Gas Tax Fund agreement and the Government of Quebec's contribution for priority infrastructure projects.
The Honourable Peter MacKay, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Central Nova, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, and Robert Goguen, M.P. for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice, will make a funding announcement.
