Acting on behalf of Nathalie Normandeau, Deputy Premier of Quebec and Ministre des Affaires municipales et des Régions, Laurent Lessard, Ministre de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation, Ministre responsable de la région de la Chaudière-Appalaches and Member of the National Assembly for Frontenac, today joined Steven Blaney, Member of Parliament for Lévis-Bellechasse, acting on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, in announcing that the Parish of Notre-Dame-Auxiliatrice-Buckland will receive $4,207,078 in combined government assistance under the Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (MRIF) for major waterworks upgrades.
The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, will be the guest speaker at a lunch hosted by the Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce on Friday, May 23, 2008. The Minister is scheduled to begin speaking at approximately 12:35 p.m.
