March 31, 2021 - Record Suspension Application Fee Increase (Service Fees Act)

From: Parole Board of Canada

Effective March 31, 2021, the record suspension application fee has increased to $657.77. If your application was mailed and post-marked by Canada Post on or before March 30, 2021, it will be processed under the previous fee of $644.88.

Any applications sent after the fee increase took effect on March 31, 2021 are processed under the new $657.77 application fee. Should applicants include the old fee of $644.88, they will be required to make an additional payment to cover the difference of $12.89.

This increase is in accordance with the Service Fees Act, which requires departments that charge an application fee to increase their fees on an annual basis according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The increase is mandatory and is intended to help departments address annual rising costs.

This is the second annual increase to the record suspension application fee under the Service Fees Act.

The Service Fees Act includes a requirement that departments develop and meet service standards.
