Dear Minister,
Congratulations on your appointment as Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan). On behalf of the department, I am very pleased to welcome you and look forward to supporting you in your new role.
As you know, PrairiesCan’s mandate is to support growth and diversification of the Prairie economy and bring Prairie perspectives to Ottawa. We build trusting relationships on the ground and help Prairie businesses, not-for-profits, and communities grow stronger. We are proud to assist the people of the Prairies to grow, transform, and achieve long-term success.
There are approximately 330 PrairiesCan staff across 11 locations in the Prairie provinces and in Ottawa, all of whom are ready to support you and your team. Our goal is to build a productive working relationship with you and your office.
To facilitate your smooth transition into the role, we have put in place a departmental concierge team that will coordinate with Canadian Heritage to ensure your short- and medium-term needs, including Ministerial office space, technology and transportation, are taken care of.
