Description
Ksi Lisims LNG is a proposed floating natural gas liquefaction production, storage, and offloading facility with a marine terminal located on the north coast of British Columbia.
The onshore components of the project would be located on land owned by Nisg̱a’a Nation, as defined in the Nisg̱a’a Treaty. The project is a partnership between the Nisg̱a’a Nation, Rockies LNG, and Western LNG.
The approximately 750-kilometre Prince Rupert Gas Transmission (PRGT) pipeline will supply feed gas for liquefaction. An approximately 120-kilometre electrical transmission line, the Nass Valley Regional Transmission Line (NVRTL), will provide electricity to the facility from the BC Hydro grid.
Designed to be one of the world’s lowest-emission LNG facilities, Ksi Lisims LNG aims to foster sustainable economic development and lasting prosperity in Canada’s northwest.

Quick facts
- Job creation: Predicted to create over a thousand skilled jobs, both during construction and on a permanent basis.
- Major investments: Ksi Lisims LNG, PRGT, and NVRTL together are expected to attract $30+ billion in investment.
- Economic growth: During its operations, the LNG facility is predicted to contribute more than $15 billion in GDP to the Canadian economy over 30 years.
- Large-scale LNG facility: Will become Canada’s second-largest LNG facility.
- Net-zero emissions: Predicted to be net-zero emissions when connected to the BC Hydro power grid.
Benefits
- Ksi Lisims LNG will become one of the world’s lowest-emission LNG operations, predicted to operate with net zero emissions once fully electrified.
- Ksi Lisims LNG proposes to construct and operate up to two floating natural gas liquefaction structures, which together would export up to 12 million tonnes per annum (or 22.4 billion cubic meters per year) of LNG.
- As an Indigenous-led major project, Ksi Lisims LNG is an example of Indigenous leadership in the energy and natural resources sector, highlighting the positive benefits of Indigenous groups as project leaders in major projects. This project offers opportunities for Indigenous groups, while contributing to economic growth.
