You can review and update the information in Represent a Client (RAC) in your CRA account.

Review and update your information

Change your registration information

You can change your registration information by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your CRA account
  2. Select your Representative account to access Represent a Client
  3. Select Profile
  4. Under “Representative information,” select Edit and follow the instructions
Cancel your RepID

If you no longer wish to use Represent a Client, cancel your RepID by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your CRA account
  2. Select your Representative account to access Represent a Client
  3. Select Profile
  4. Under “Representative information,” select Cancel my RepID and follow the instructions

Review and update client information

View your client list and get detailed authorization information

View or download your client list, request a download frequency of your client list, obtain detailed authorization information, or delete authorizations by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your CRA account
  2. Select your Representative account to access Represent a Client
  3. Select Profile
  4. If needed, select the business or GroupID under "Associations"
  5. Find the authorizations under “Clients”
View transactions performed

View a list of the transactions you have performed for your clients by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your CRA account
  2. Select your Representative account to access Represent a Client
  3. Select Profile
  4. If needed, select the business or GroupID under “Associations”
  5. Under "Clients," select the dropdown for the client type (individual, business or trust)
  6. Select Transactions performed
View list of notices issued

The List of notices issued service allows you to view notices of assessment (NOA) and notices of reassessment (NOR) issued to your individual clients (only) as a result of a tax return being filed or amended. The list will show notices issued in the last 365 days.

List of notices issued can be accessed directly through Represent a Client.

Notification preferences for registered electronic filers (EFILE for T1 returns)

Registered electronic filers can receive pre-assessment and processing review letters, relating to T1 returns, online.

Authorization to manage notification preferences is granted when:

Business owners and senior administrators can register by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your CRA account
  2. Select your Representative account to access Represent a Client
  3. Select Profile
  4. If needed, select the business or GroupID under “Associations”
  5. Under “Notification Preferences,” select Manage notification preferences

To view the letters, select Mail from the left hand side bar on the Overview page.

Only letters received electronically are available for viewing online in Represent a Client.

Review and update your business information

Update business name and contact information

Before you can change your business name in Represent a Client, you must update your business name in our BN database:

  1. Sign in to your CRA account
  2. Select your Business account to access My Business Account
  3. Select Profile
  4. Choose Manage operating names to add, remove, or change an operating name

After you have updated your business name in our BN database, update your business name within Represent a Client:

  1. Sign in to your CRA account
  2. Select your Representative account to access Represent a Client
  3. Select Profile
  4. Under "Associations," select the business you want to update
  5. Under “Business information,” select Edit to update the business name or contact information
Review the list of representatives and/or administrators associated to your business

If you are the owner or an administrator of the business, you can review the list of employees associated to your business as representatives and/or administrators by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your CRA account
  2. Select your Representative account to access Represent a Client
  3. Select Profile
  4. Under “Associations,” select the business
  5. Select Employee list
Cancel or suspend your business from Represent a Client

Cancel or suspend your business registration from Represent a Client by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your CRA account
  2. Select your Representative account to access Represent a Client
  3. Select Profile
  4. Under “Associations,” select the business
  5. Select Suspend business or Cancel business, whichever is appropriate, and follow the instructions
