Line 26000 – Taxable income
Note: Line 26000 was line 260 before tax year 2019.
Your taxable income is the amount used to calculate your federal tax on your return and your provincial or territorial tax on Form 428 (except Quebec).
If you were a resident of Quebec on December 31, 2022, calculate your provincial tax for Quebec by completing a Revenu Québec Income Tax Return.
If, at the end of the year, you reside in a province or territory, but all or part of your business income for the year was earned and can be allocated to a permanent establishment outside that province or territory, use Form T2203, Provincial and Territorial Taxes for Multiple Jurisdictions, to determine the taxes payable on the income attributed to the other province or territory, other than Quebec. You must attach a copy of Form T2203 to your income tax return.
Completing your tax return
Report on line 26000 the amount from line 23600 minus the amount from line 25700. Line 25700 is the total of all your amounts on lines 24400 to 25600.
