Cancel authorization for a representative
Your representative's access to your tax information remains until you or they cancel the access or it expires (if an expiry date was included in the authorization request). Your representative's access will not expire when we are notified of your death, unless they were your legal representative. Cancel your representative's authorization for a:
- personal tax account
- business tax account
- non-resident tax account
- trust tax account
- Online:

Fastest way. Removing a representative online immediately cancels their access to your CRA account. You may do this through My Account for Individuals.
Cancel using My AccountAlternative online method
Your representative can log in to Represent a Client and cancel their own authorization.

Slower way. You or your representative can call to cancel an authorization for your personal account at 1-800-959-8281.

Fill in Form AUT-01X, Cancel Authorization for a Representative, and mail it to the appropriate CRA tax centre listed on the form within six months of the date it is signed.

To cancel your representative's authorization to your:
- Business account information, fill in Form AUT-01X, Cancel Authorization for a Representative, and mail the form to the appropriate CRA tax centre listed on the form within six months of the date it is signed.
- Selected Listed Financial Institutions account information, fill in Form RC7259X, Cancel Business Consent or Delegated Authority for Certain Selected Listed Financial Institutions, and mail the form to the CRA tax centre listed on the form within six months of the date it is signed.
