Opened on August 8, 2019 and will close on August 30, 2019.
The Government of Canada brought forward a new impact assessment system with better rules for major projects that protect the environment, respect Indigenous rights, and strengthen our economy.
As part of these better rules, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is developing the strategic assessment of climate change to provide guidance to proponents and others on information requirements related to climate change throughout the impact assessment process, and also for environmental reviews by the Canadian Energy Regulator and other lifecycle regulators. This will enable consistent, predictable, efficient and transparent consideration of climate change in the impact assessment process.
