2018 Public Service Employee Survey
A message from the Chief Human Resources Officer
The Government of Canada has embraced the importance of data in its policy development. It is committed to ensuring that ongoing workplace improvement is based on evidence, such as that collected through the Public Service Employee Survey. The Public Service Employee Survey allows the federal public service to identify what it is doing well and what it could be doing better, from the perspective of its employees, in order to ensure the continuous improvement of people management practices in government. As the Chief Human Resources Officer, I am pleased to make the 2018 results publicly available, and to announce that additional analysis using modern tools will provide topic-specific information to my Office and stakeholders.
Monitoring the trends that employees express now on an annual basis speaks to our commitment to listening and acting to address their concerns or celebrate our strengths. Investing in this survey speaks to the importance we give to reinforcing a productive, healthy and respectful workplace, for an energized, innovative and inclusive workforce that is better able to meet the rapidly evolving expectations of employees and Canadians alike.
Better people management practices lead to better results for the public service, and in turn, better results for Canadians.
