Careers in internal audit: Testimonials from GC employees - Transcript

(Chat with Valentina)

I would say that one of the main reasons that I really like working in audit is the variety that's associated to this job. I feel like there's this common misconception that Auditors are simply stuck working in finances, or working with taxes, and that's just not true. Auditing is a career that can be applied in so many different areas, at both the local, national, and international level. So, there's so much room to grow in both the private and the public sector, and so much to learn, so many different opportunities to learn new things. I would say that another reason that I really enjoy working in audit is the wide skill set that you can gain from this job. There’re so many different skills that you can learn and be able to apply to so many different fields in this area, and myself I've learned so much about critical thinking, and written communication, and oral communication, and professional skepticism, and these are all skills that I can apply in different areas of my life and different areas of my career. Another reason I really love this field is the job security that's associated to it. I mean, every organization out there needs auditors at both the local, national and international level, in both the private and the public sector. So there's no shortage of job security in this field.
