Creating your ArriveCAN account

To create an ArriveCAN account, download the ArriveCAN app or access the web version of ArriveCAN. You will need to:

  1. review the privacy notice
  2. select "Create an account" below the "Sign in" button
  3. enter your email address
  4. confirm your email address
  5. create a password
  6. enter the password again
  7. select "Submit"

ArriveCAN will send a 6-digit verification code to your email address. This code is valid for 24 hours. If it expires, request a new code to set up your account.

If you haven't received the code after a few minutes:

  • make sure you entered the correct email address in ArriveCAN
  • check your spam, junk, and/or promotions folder
  • return to ArriveCAN and select "Resend code"

When you receive your code, enter it into ArriveCAN to finish creating your account. Your email address and password will work for both the ArriveCAN app and the ArriveCAN website.

Creating your saved traveller profile

Before submitting the details of your first trip, you need to set up your traveller profile.

To complete your profile, you need a travel document (passport or permanent resident card). You may scan the document or enter the information manually. You must use the same travel document upon arrival.

By using the "saved traveller" feature on the app, your travel document information can be retained on a secure server linked to your sign-in account.

You will not need to re-create your profile each time you travel to Canada, unless your information changes. However, you will still need to submit the specific details about your trip each time you travel to Canada.

Creating profiles for others

You may also create a profile on behalf of someone you know who is travelling.

Any profile you complete for others in your travel party will be linked to your sign-in account. If you take another trip alone, remember to remove their name(s) from your account.

Make sure members in your travel party bring the same travel identity documents with them that you used to create their profiles.
