Canada-France Agreement — Museums Assistance Program
The Canada-France Agreement component of the Museums Assistance Program (MAP) –provides funding for joint missions between French and Canadian heritage organizations, to create ties and enhance competencies of museum professionals.
Partnerships may relate to research on development and diversification of audiences. Projects that further the development of official language minority communities are given a priority for funding support.
Who can apply
Applicants must meet the criteria in one of the following two categories:
- Incorporated non-profit Canadian museumsFootnote 1 which:
- provide services to the public year-round;
- employ the equivalent of one full-time paid professional staff;
- have policies for key museum functions; and
- have a current three to five-year strategic/business plan.
OR
- Museums associations and incorporated non-profit Canadian service organizations whose membership relates to the museum sector which:
- provide services to the public year-round;
- employ the equivalent of one full-time paid professional staff;
- have a current three to five-year strategic/business plan.
How to apply
Applicants are required to:
- review the Application Guidelines for 2023-2024 – Canada-France Agreement;
- contact the nearest regional office of the Department of Canadian Heritage to discuss their project and request an application package;
- complete and submit their application form.
Application deadline
The next application deadline is March 31, 2023.
