Funding: Apprenticeship Completion Grant – Eligibility

In order to be eligible for the grant, you must have successfully completed your apprenticeship program.

To be eligible for the ACG, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a protected person
  • not be a high school student
  • demonstrate completion of an apprenticeship program with acceptable provincial/territorial ACG supporting document, within an eligible apprenticeship program
  • be a certified journeyperson who completed your apprenticeship training program in a designated Red Seal trade

Eligibility while attending school
You can apply for the ACG if you meet the eligibility requirements and you are a:

  • registered apprentice enrolled in adult learning classes
  • registered apprentice taking professional development courses, or
  • Quebec apprentice completing your vocational training

Deadline to submit an application

Progression date between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2020

  • Application deadline: 18 months from progression date (Note: 6 months extension due to the Apprenticeship Authority shutdown (Covid-19 pandemic)).
  • Deadline for submitting supporting proof document(s): 12 months from application deadline.

Example

If your progression date is March 15, 2020, you have until September 15, 2021 to apply and until September 15, 2022, to provide supporting proof document(s).


Progression date January 1, 2021 or later

  • Application deadline: 12 months from progression date.
  • Deadline for submitting supporting proof document(s): 12 months from application deadline.

Example

If your progression date is February 12, 2021, you have until February 12, 2022 to apply and until February 12, 2023, to provide supporting proof document(s).
