Funding: Apprenticeship Completion Grant – What this grant offered Closed
Current status: Closed
The Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG) closed on March 31, 2025. Applications and supporting documents are no longer accepted.
Change to the Apprenticeship Completion Grant
The ACG was a one-time taxable cash grant lifetime amount of $2,000 per person for registered apprentices. It was for registered apprentices who:
- successfully completed their apprenticeship training program, no later than March 31, 2025, and
- received their journeyperson certification in a designated Red Seal trade.
Other support
The Government of Canada will continue to support apprentices financially as they are unemployed and progress through their technical training. Eligible apprentices can access Employment Insurance benefits while attending technical training, and up to $20,000 in interest-free Canada Apprentice Loans.
Apprentices can apply for a Canada Apprentice Loan as early as 3 months before the start of their technical training and can receive funding as early as day one of their training while they wait for their Employment Insurance claim to be processed for payment.
Project funding for organizations providing apprenticeship support to individuals is available under the Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy.
