Share your ideas: Proposed renewal of the environmental performance agreement for the refractory ceramic fibre industry
From: Environment and Climate Change Canada
Current status: Closed
Opened on August 22, 2023 and will close on September 21, 2023.
The Government of Canada is soliciting your feedback on the proposed renewal of the environmental performance agreement for the refractory ceramic fibre (RCF) industry in Canada.
The comments received during this period will be considered before the agreement is finalized and signed by the parties.
Background
The 5 participating companies from the previous agreement conformed to its terms, including thresholds for use/fenceline concentrations, inspection and maintenance of pollution control equipment and product stewardship requirements. One of these companies withdrew from the previous agreement after confirming they no longer use RCF in their facility.
The proposed renewal will ensure the continued implementation of effective stewardship practices by manufacturers and processors of RCF in Canada.
