Warnings

Liver warning:

Acetaminophen may cause severe or possibly fatal liver damage if you take

• more than the recommended dose in 24 hours
• with other drugs containing acetaminophen
• while drinking 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day (adult products only)

Symptoms of liver damage may include:

• yellow skin or eyes
• dark urine
• sweating
• nausea
• vomiting
• stomach pain
• unusual tiredness
• loss of appetite

Allergy alert:

Acetaminophen may cause serious skin reactions.

Symptoms may include:

• skin reddening
• blisters
• rash

If any of the above noted symptoms occur, stop use and seek medical help right away.

Do not use

• with any other drug containing acetaminophen
• if you are allergic to acetaminophen. If you are not sure whether a drug contains acetaminophen, ask a doctor or pharmacist.

• have liver or kidney disease
• take the blood thinning drug warfarin
• are pregnant or breast feeding

Stop use and ask a doctor if

• pain lasts for more than 5 days
• fever lasts more than 3 days

Directions

Adults and children 12 years and over:

• take 1(tablet/caplet/etc.) every 4 to 6 hours
• if pain or fever does not respond to 1 (tablet/caplet/etc.), take 2 (tablets/caplets/etc.) at next dose
• do not take more than X mg (xx tablets) in 24 hours

• moisten suppository with cool water
• gently push one suppository as high as possible into rectum every 4 to 6 hours

• do not take more than directed (see liver warnings)

Warnings:

Reye's Syndrome: Do not give to children and teenagers under 18 years of age who have chicken pox, cold or flu symptoms. ASA is reported to be linked to Reye's Syndrome, a rare but serious illness.

Stomach bleeding:

• ASA may cause severe stomach bleeding
• Stop use and get medical help right away if you
  • feel faint
  • vomit blood
  • bloody or black stools
  • have stomach pain that does not get better
• Do not take other products containing ASA, salicylates or NSAIDs while taking this product

Allergy alert

• ASA may cause a severe allergic reaction including
  • skin rash or hives
  • face swelling
  • wheezing
  • trouble breathing
• If an allergic reaction occurs get medical help right away
• Do not use if you
  • are allergic to ASA, salicylates or other NSAIDs
  • have asthma brought on by ASA, salicylates or other NSAIDs

Do not use if you

• have or have had an ulcer
• are prone to bleeding
• have liver or kidney disease
• use methotrexate 15 mg/week or more
• are in the last trimester of pregnancy

• fever that lasts more than 3 days
• redness or swelling

Direction

• Children less than 18 years of age: see Reye's Syndrome warning above.
• Adults and children 12 years and over: For all products (except effervescent): take 1 (tablet/caplet/…) with a glass (250 mL) of water or milk, every 4-6 hours
  • for effervescent products: dissolve 1 tablet in a glass (250 mL) of water
  • do not take more than 4000 mg (xx dosage units) in 24 hours. Use the smallest effective dose.

Warnings

Do not use

• with other acid reducers
• if you are vomiting with blood, or have black or bloody stools. See your doctor.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you

• have
  • kidney disease
  • history of ulcer disease
  • any other illness
  • difficulty swallowing
  • continuous stomach pain
  • had heartburn for over 3 months
  • frequent heartburn or chest pain
  • heartburn with light-headedness, sweating dizziness, or frequent wheezing
  • chest or shoulder pain with shortness of breath, sweating, pain spreading to arms, neck or shoulders
  • unexplained weight loss
  • nausea or vomiting
  • new or changed symptoms of acid indigestion or heartburn
• take
  • any prescription drug
  • non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
• are
  • over 40 years old
  • pregnant or breastfeeding

When using this product headache, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may occur. If these persist, stop use and ask a doctor.

Stop use and ask a doctor if

• your heartburn continues or worsens
• you need to take this product for more than 14 days

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, call a poison control centre or get medical help right away.

Directions

Adults and children 16 years of age or over:

• Do not take more than X tablets in 24 hours
• To relieve symptoms
  • swallow X tablet with a glass of water
  • if symptoms persist for more than 1 hour or returns after 1 hour, take X tablet
• To prevent symptoms
  • swallow X tablet with a glass of water 30-60 minutes before eating food or drinking beverages that cause symptoms

Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including

• limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
• wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses

For products that are non-water resistant: Use a water resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating

For products that are water resistant:

• reapply after 40 [or 80] minutes of swimming or sweating
• reapply right after towel drying

For products that are applied to the lips:

• reapply after eating or drinking

For spray products:

• spray liberally/generously and spread evenly by hand 15 minutes before sun exposure
• hold container 4 to 6 inches from the skin to apply
• do not spray directly onto face. Spray on hands then apply to face.
• do not apply in windy conditions
• use in a well-ventilated area
