Psychosocial response and extended counselling
Our team supports federal responders and employees:
- affected by critical incidents
- during major international events
- under prolonged stress
To provide these services, we work with a network of mental health professionals who specialize in supporting responders.
We also coordinate extended counselling services to address specific organizational needs. We provide these services on a cost-recovery basis.
Specialized Organizational Services
We offer specialized organizational services to meet the workplace wellness and mental health needs of employees, managers, and executives of the federal public service.
These services are available to all federal departments and agencies across Canada, and operate on a cost-recovery basis. They include:
- customized training and workshops on topics such as:
- change management
- civility and respect in the workplace
- unconscious bias
- workplace transitions
- stress management, burnout prevention and resiliency
- career planning, leadership skills and coaching
- evidence-based and off-the-shelf workshops:
- decompression programs that are:
- trauma-informed and evidence-based
- designed to support the well-being of those who have experienced significant workplace stress
- workplace health assessments
- workplace restoration services
- grief and loss support, both in-person and virtually, with flexible scheduling

Alternative dispute resolution services
We provide support and resolution services that help managers and employees address workplace challenges in a collaborative, constructive and voluntary manner. Services are offered on a cost-recovery basis.
Informal Conflict Management Services
Confidential and impartial advice for employees and managers about informal conflict resolution, including:
- mediation
- conflict coaching
- facilitated discussion
- group process, which is a guided session where participants:
- identify issues
- establish an action plan
- reach resolution

Prevention of harassment and violence in the workplace
Advice and consultation for prevention, as well as resolution and restoration after workplace harassment or violence, including:
- training
- workplace risk assessments
- administrative investigations
- designated recipient services

Ombuds services
A confidential program that offers a safe space to discuss workplace issues that contribute to a challenging work environment. Services include:
- active listening
- research services
- referrals and follow-ups
- needs assessments by service coordinators
- information and guidance on resolution options
Occupational and critical incident stress management
Supports Indigenous Services Canada nurses and band-employed nurses working in:
- First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities
- zone offices
- regional offices
Services include:
- wellbeing check-ins
- resiliency coaching
- cumulative stress coaching
- critical incident services, such as:
- support
- education
- recommendations
- follow-ups
- preventing occupational stress injuries
- peer-assistance line and support calls
