This section contains policy, procedures and guidance used by IRCC staff. It is posted on the department’s website as a courtesy to stakeholders.

Applications received are verified for completeness and accuracy. The identity and status of sponsors and refugees are verified. Limits may be imposed to restrict how many refugees can be sponsored.
