After you apply

All available spaces have been filled

As of March 6, 2025, we received enough temporary resident visa (TRV) applications to fill the available spaces. We’re no longer

  • issuing unique reference codes
  • accepting new applications under these measures

Find out what happens if you have an application in progress.

Be careful of suspicious sources promising to help you leave Gaza!

Scammers may use fake phone numbers that look like ours to ask you for money. These are not agents or consultants acting on our behalf.

We’ll never ask you for payment by telephone. If someone claiming to be from IRCC requests payment this way, it's a scam!

Completing your application: Biometrics and admissibility

Before we can approve your application, we need to

If your application passes a preliminary eligibility and admissibility assessment, we’ll work with local authorities to advocate for your exit out of Gaza.

The Government of Canada

  • doesn’t decide who can leave Gaza
  • can’t guarantee that you’ll be authorized to exit Gaza

If you left Gaza on your own and are currently in Egypt

You should make an appointment with the Embassy of Canada in Cairo to finalize your application and submit your biometrics.

Your fingerprints and photo (biometrics)

We need to collect your biometrics if you

  • are between the ages of 14 and 79
  • haven’t given your biometrics in the last 10 years

Your deadline to give biometrics

Given the situation, we understand that you may not be able to give your biometrics or complete a full admissibility check until you’ve left Gaza.

If you’re still in Gaza, your biometric instruction letter will not expire after 30 days, and your application will not be affected.

You don’t need to contact us to get a new letter or to ask for an extension.

However, if you’re already outside of Gaza and the deadline in your letter has not yet passed, you should follow the instructions in your biometric instruction letter.

Assessing your admissibility

After you submit your biometrics, we’ll complete your security screening to make sure you’re admissible to Canada.
