Administrative Burden Baseline: Update 2025
Regulatory organizations are required through the Administrative Burden Baseline to provide a count of the requirements in federal regulations that impose an administrative burden on business.
All federal regulations that are administered by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) that have requirements that impose administrative burden on business are identified below. The total 2025 ABB count is 189. The total June 30th, 2014, the baseline count is 42.
Between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016, PHAC's total count of administrative burden requirements changed as a result of the coming into force of the Human Pathogens and Toxins Regulations (HPTR) and the repeal of the Human Pathogen Importation Regulations.
