This handbook is designed to assist service providers in becoming aware of and in taking action against child abuse and neglect. The handbook includes an overview of both the signs and the steps that should be taken in reporting child abuse, as well as the relevant laws and government policies which address the issue of abuse against children. In addition, the handbook discusses the importance of collaborative efforts between service providers and the need for responses to child abuse in British Columbia to be effective and consistent in meeting the needs of children. It is intended for front-line justice personnel who use special accommodations and testimonial aids for young victims and witnesses of domestic violence.
