Answers to top questions
Can my business still make a claim for firearms that were prohibited in 2020?
Yes. You can submit a claim for firearms (including lower receivers) and upper receivers that were prohibited in May 2020, December 2024 or March 2025 as well as certain associated parts and components. The deadline for businesses to submit claims is June 4, 2026, subject to the availability of program funds. Please note that payment of compensation is dependent on the successful completion of all required firearm validations.

Can my business still request a compensation review for firearms with a rare background or unique features?
No. To ensure the efficient delivery of the ASFCP within the available program funds, the compensation review process will no longer be available when the program re-opens for businesses in 2026. Businesses who disagree with the compensation offered can remove the impacted firearm from their claim or choose to deactivate their firearm instead.
How long will it take for my business to receive payment?
Once your firearms have been received and validated, payment will be issued within 45 business days if no additional review is required. More information on payment of your claim.
