Payment of your claim

The program for businesses is currently closed, but will re-open April 23, 2026 at noon, Eastern Time.

Compensation amounts

As an eligible business with firearms (including lower receivers) or upper receivers prohibited in May 2020, December 2024 or March 2025 or certain associated parts and components, you can submit a claim for compensation to the program.

See compensation amounts for businesses.

Eligible businesses also receive an administrative payment of $250 for each firearm turned in to offset processing and packaging costs, as well as inventory and holding costs incurred since the prohibitions. This payment is automatically added to your total claim amount.

If you choose to have your firearms deactivated, your business will be reimbursed a flat rate fee of $400 to $700 per firearm. See details in the ASFCP compensation model.

The deadline for businesses to submit claims is June 4, 2026, subject to the availability of program funds. Please note that payment of compensation is dependent on the successful completion of all required firearm validations.

Participating in the program is voluntary, however businesses (except those with required registration certificates and specific privileges on their licence) must safely dispose of or permanently deactivate their assault-style firearms before the amnesty period expires on October 30, 2026, or risk criminal liability for the illegal possession of a prohibited firearm.

When you'll receive payment

Once you've submitted your claim and your firearms, devices and/or parts and components have been received and validated, payment will be issued within 45 business days, provided that all required firearm validations are successfully completed, and no additional review is required.

To help process your payment as quickly as possible, please fill out your claim accurately.
