The program for businesses is currently closed, but will re-open April 23, 2026 at noon, Eastern Time.
Eligible businesses will be able to submit a claim to the Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program (ASFCP) for firearms (including lower receivers) and upper receivers prohibited in May 2020, December 2024 or March 2025 and certain associated parts and components.
The deadline for businesses to submit claims is June 4, 2026, subject to the availability of program funds. Please note that payment of compensation is dependent on the successful completion of all required firearm validations.
Participating in the program is voluntary, however businesses (except those with required registration certificates and specific privileges on their licence) must safely dispose of or permanently deactivate their assault-style firearms before the amnesty period expires on October 30, 2026, or risk criminal liability for the illegal possession of a prohibited firearm.
