How to submit online

Before you submit a lead, review What to include in your lead for guidance. This helps ensure you provide enough information for the CRA to take action.

Once you submit a lead, you cannot take it back. The CRA does not provide feedback or updates on leads or any actions it takes.

The Leads Program does not accept information by email or in person.

The mailing address and fax line are for suspected cases of tax or benefit cheating only. Information sent to the National Leads Centre that is not clearly intended for the Leads Program will not be redirected to other CRA programs or outside organizations, because of the sensitive nature of the correspondence.

How to send supporting documents

Send only copies of original documents.

If you already submitted a lead online, send any supporting documents by mail or fax:

Write the reference number you received on the top-right corner of each page. If you do not have a reference number, submit the information as a new lead and clearly explain the suspected tax or benefit cheating.
