My Business Account

My Business Account (MyBA) is a secure and convenient way for businesses and organizations to access their Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) account information online.

As of June 1, 2019, the CRA offers new digital services for charities through MyBA. You can do the following tasks online:

  • apply to become a registered charity or a registered Canadian amateur athletic association (RCAAA)
  • complete and file your annual T3010 Registered Charity Information Return
  • update information about your organization, including addresses, list of directors, representatives, and several post-registration amendments
  • upload supporting documents and correspond with the Charities Directorate about your registered organization account
  • access payroll and GST accounts, file T4 slips, GST returns, and view your organization's account balance, transactions, and remitting requirements

Applicant organization
  • Applying for registration for the first time

You are the director or trustee of an organization that wants to apply to become a registered charity or registered Canadian amateur athletic association (RCAAA):

If your organization has a business number (BN) (for example because it is incorporated or already has another CRA program account):

    1. Go to Business Registration Online to obtain a pending RR account.
    2. Go to CRA login services, select “My Business Account” and use your CRA user ID and password to login.
    3. Once logged into MyBA, select “Manage business number(s) in your profile”, and then select “Add a business” to add your organization’s BN.

If you don’t have a BN:

    1. Go to Business Registration Online to obtain a BN and a pending RR account.
    2. Go to CRA login services, select “My Business Account” and use your CRA user ID and password to login.
    3. Once logged into MyBA, select “Manage business number(s) in your profile”, and then select “Add a business” to add your organization’s BN.
  • Already submitted an application?

If your organization submitted an application in the past, but was never registered, a Business Number (BN) and registered charities (RR) account may have already been assigned to your organization.

To complete a new application, you need to contact the Charities Directorate. After confirming that you are authorized on the file, we will provide you with your BN and RR account, and restore access to MyBA.

  • Applying for re-registration after being revoked

When a charity or RCAAA's registration is revoked, it can no longer access its RR account on MyBA.

To apply for re-registration, you need to contact the Charities Directorate. After confirming that you are authorized on the file, we will restore access to your organization’s RR account on MyBA

Registered charity, RCAAA or RNASO

If you have previously used CRA login services to access My Account for individuals or MyBA

  1. Go to CRA login services, select “My Business Account” and use your CRA user ID and password to log in.
  2. Once logged into by MyBA, select “Manage business number(s) in your profile”, and then select “Add a business” to add your organization’s business number (BN).

If you have never used any CRA login services, follow the instructions to register with MyBA.

Note

If you do not see your organization’s BN once you’re logged into MyBA, and can’t add it, it may be that you’re not an authorized director for your organization or your SIN is not associated with your organization’s BN or RR account in the CRA record. Call the Charities Directorate to solve that issue. You will need to provide us your SIN with your name in a letter certified by an authorized director/trustee of your organization.
Registered Head body or internal division

If you are the director of a registered charity that is an internal division:

  1. You must register for Represent a client to obtain a repID (see instructions).
  2. Your head body will then authorize you under their business number (BN) and your RR account.

If you are the director of a registered charity that is a head body:

Authorized representative

An authorized representative can be an employee, volunteer, or another individual such as a lawyer, accountant, or bookkeeper.

  1. Sign up for Represent a client to obtain a repID (see instructions).
  2. Your client will authorize you using your repID.

Multiple Users

Multiple directors can be registered for MyBA and may access the organization’s account at the same time. However, only one user at a time will be able to perform specific tasks.

The CRA recommends that multiple directors register for MyBA to ensure the registered organization does not rely on only one user and one set of login credentials.
