Welcome page for CRA account

A new way to access your CRA accounts

The CRA now offers single sign-in to access all your CRA accounts. You can use one sign-in credential to access your accounts from one page. After you sign in, you will be taken to the new CRA account Welcome page.

The Welcome page displays a panel for each account linked to your social insurance number (SIN), such as, My Account, your default My Business Account and Represent a Client.

To access an account, select the account panel. You will be taken to the account overview page.

To access your additional business accounts, select your default business account panel. From the overview page, you can switch to your other business accounts using the menu in the top left corner.

Business Registration

To register for a new BN, and add it to your CRA account, follow these steps:

  1. Get a business number:
    1. Sign in to your CRA account
    2. On the “Welcome” page, Select + Add account
    3. Select Business account, then Register a Business to complete your registration
      • This will sign you out of your CRA account
      • You can then register for a BN and program accounts, such as GST/HST or payroll.
    4. When you finish registering your business, sign back into your CRA account to add you BN

  2. Add your BN to your CRA account:

Your new BN will not appear automatically in your CRA account.

To access your business information online, you must link your SIN to your BN, if it has not already been done, and then add your BN to your CRA account.

    How to add your BN:

    1. Sign in to your CRA account
    2. On the “Welcome” page, select +Add account
    3. Select Business Account, then Add existing business number (BN)
    4. Read and accept the My Business Account Terms and Conditions, if prompted
    5. Enter your newly created 9-digit business number
    6. Follow the instructions that apply to your situation:
      • If your SIN is already linked to your BN
        • Select Submit and your BN will be added to your CRA account once your information is validated.
      • if your SIN is not linked to your BN
Answer Yes or No to the question: “Have you filed a GST/HST return or a T2 Corporation income tax return?” Then select Submit.
        • If Yes and enter the requested information from your assessed return
        • Important: If you select No, you can only link your SIN if your BN was registered within the last 28 days.

If your information matches CRA records and validation is successful, your SIN will be linked automatically to your BN and your BN will be added to your CRA account.

  3. Access your business account
After your BN is added, go to the “Welcome” page of your CRA account and select Business account to access My Business Account.

If you cannot link your SIN to your BN
If you cannot link your SIN to your BN, you will not be able to add your BN to your CRA account.
Refer to Maintain your business for other ways to update your SIN. Once your SIN is linked to your BN, you can follow the steps under Add your business number to your CRA account to add and access your business information online..
