What's new
Improved CRA sign-in service webpages
The CRA has introduced a new look and feel for the My Account, My Business Account, and Represent a Client sign-in, registration, and help pages on Canada.ca. The improved webpages make it easier for you to find the information you need.
Ongoing look and feel enhancements
My Business Account continues to be updated to improve the look and feel of its services as well as to improve user experience and navigation. You will see improvements when viewing balances, transferring payments and credits, responding to notices as well as requesting CPP/EI Rulings.
Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED)
SR&ED’s Self-Assessment and Learning Tool (SALT) was added in My Business Account for RC program accounts. The assessment tool will assist claimants in preparing their project descriptions and expenditures prior to submitting a claim.
Make a pre-payment
You now have limited access to the “View and pay account balance” application. This allows you to make pre-payments to your program account before to any transactions are posted to your My Business account.
Optional email notifications
Optional email notifications are now available in My Business Account. While some email notifications are mandatory to ensure the security of accounts, such as when address or direct deposit information is changed, businesses can choose to receive additional optional notifications for Payments. More optional notifications will be added in the future.
Document verification service
The document verification service is an alternative identity validation option that allows Canadians to register for and access the CRA sign-in services in real-time. Canadians choosing this option no longer need to wait up to 10 business days to receive a CRA security code by paper mail. The process requires a mobile device to take a picture of the user’s government-issued photo identification and of themselves to verify their identity. To use this service you must:
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Have an accepted government-issued photo identification
- Have a mobile device with a working camera
The following original government-issued documents are accepted:
- Canadian passport
- Canadian driver's license
- Provincial or territorial photo ID card
Connect with us
A new link called “Connect with us” was added to the “Correspondence” side bar taking users to a page with options to contact the CRA or to get help on specific topics that can be found outside the portal.
