Installing the tax software and its functions

UFile CVITP is customized exclusively for use by Income Tax Assistance – Volunteer Program (ITAVP) volunteers. Approved organizations receive an email containing the software activation keys and the instructions for installation, once the current year’s version becomes available.

UFile CVITP software is intended solely for use by ITAVP volunteers

Do not copy the software under any circumstances
Use the software only to complete tax returns for eligible individuals
Do not use the software for monetary gain

Sections

Installing and setting up the software: Information and advice on installing and starting up UFile CVITP on your computer, such as EFILE-NETFILE setup, display size and other support functions.
Identification sections: Instructions on how to create a new tax file, complete the identification and address sections and how to add a spouse or dependant.
CRA and Revenu Québec related sections: Instructions on how to complete the following topics: CRA questions, Revenu Québec questions, Quebec prescription drug insurance plan, Solidarity tax credit, EFILE and Revenu Québec tax data download.
Tax data entry sections: Information on the Interview setup topic and instructions on how to enter data from tax slips, how to claim deductions and credits and how to control MaxBack.
How to review and submit the tax returns: Information on reviewing tax return results before they are submitted and on how to submit them.
How to save and print the tax returns: Instructions on how to save tax returns in UFile format or as a PDF and how to print them.
