To avoid interruptions, file your taxes as soon as possible.

You can also report your income directly to us to renew or confirm your eligibility.

If you have questions or concerns about your GIS payments, contact us.

The Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) is a monthly, tax-free payment you can get if you are 65 or older.

In most cases, Service Canada will be able to automatically enroll you for the supplement if we have your eligibility information. Service Canada will inform you by mail.

If it's been one month since your 64th birthday and you still have not received an enrollment letter, you may need to apply.
