How to access Old Age Security services in MSCA
To access your Old Age Security (OAS) pension benefits and services in My Service Canada Account (MSCA), you must register or sign in to MSCA.
Once registered or signed in, go to the “Old Age Security” section on your MSCA dashboard and select “Manage my benefits”.

How to view information about your application
View your application status
On your OAS dashboard, navigate to the “Follow up item(s)” and “Notifications” section. These sections will inform you if any documentation is required to complete an application and will provide you updates about your application.
View your payment information
On your OAS dashboard, navigate to the “Payments” section to view payment details. You will be able to view and print your payment information for the current year and the past 2 years.
How to manage your personal information
Banking information Currently unavailable
You cannot currently change your banking information in MSCA. Visit Change your personal information to see other options.
Residential or mailing address information Currently unavailable
You cannot currently change your address information in MSCA. Visit Change your personal information to see other options.
Email addresses
To change your email address, select “Profile” on your OAS dashboard, then select “Manage email addresses”.
Once you have made the change and received a confirmation, your updated email address will be visible on the “Contact preferences” section of the “Profile” page.
Phone number Currently unavailable
You cannot currently change your phone number information in MSCA. Visit Change your personal information to see other options.
Marital relationship
To add or change your marital relationship, select "Profile" on your OAS dashboard, then select “Manage marital relationship”.
Note: Supporting documents may be required. On your OAS dashboard, navigate to the “Follow up item(s)” section. This section will inform you if any documentation is required to complete an application.
Once you have made the change and received a confirmation, your updated marital status information will be visible on the “Personal information” section of the “Profile” page.
Living apart for reasons beyond your control
To add or change your situation, select "Profile" on your OAS dashboard, then select “Manage living apart for reasons beyond your control”. The Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) and Allowance (ALW) payments might be calculated based on individual income rather than combined income, if it is to your advantage.
Note: Supporting documents may be required. On your OAS dashboard, navigate to the “Follow up item(s)” section. This section will inform you if any documentation is required to complete an application.
Once you have made the change and received a confirmation, your updated information will be visible on the “Personal information” section of the “Profile” page.
Authorized person
To add, change or delete an authorized person who has your consent to communicate with Service Canada about your OAS account, select "Profile" on your OAS dashboard, then select “Manage my authorized person”.
Once you have made the change and received a confirmation, your updated authorized person information will be visible on the “My authorized person” section of the “Profile” page.
You can share your consent to communicate information between OAS and CPP benefits.
Income
To add your manually reported income for a specific year, select "Profile" on your OAS dashboard, then select “Manage my income”. The GIS amount depends on your marital status and net annual income or, in case of couples, the combined net annual income. For combined net income, please have your spouse or common-law partner enter their income in the “Manage My Income” life event found on the profile page.
Note: Supporting documents may be required. On your OAS dashboard, navigate to the “Follow up item(s)” section. This section will inform you if any documentation is required to complete an application.
Voluntary income tax deductions
You can start, change or stop a federal or provincial voluntary tax deduction at any time in MSCA. Select "Profile" on your OAS dashboard, then select “Manage voluntary income tax deductions”.
Once you have made the change and received a confirmation, your updated voluntary tax deductions will be visible on the “Voluntary income tax deduction” section of the “Profile” page.
If you are currently receiving the Canada Pension Plan benefit and you want to update your CPP voluntary tax deduction amount, you will be able to navigate to the federal voluntary tax deduction for CPP page.
Communication preferences
To update your communication preferences in MSCA, select "Profile" on your OAS dashboard, then select “Update communication preferences”.
Once you have made the change and received a confirmation, your updated communication preferences will be visible on the “Communication preferences” section of the “Profile” page.
Delay receiving your OAS/GIS pension
If you have received notification of automatic enrolment, you can choose to delay your OAS/GIS pension. On your OAS dashboard, select "Profile," and scroll to "Tell us if anything has changed." Click "Select for more options," then "Delay receiving OAS/GIS pension."
Note: Your automatic enrolment letter may contain outdated instructions for this action. If you require assistance, please contact Old Age Security.
Withdraw Old Age Security pension request
To request a withdrawal of your OAS pension, select "Profile" on your OAS dashboard, then select “Withdraw Old Age Security pension request”.
Requesting withdrawal of your OAS pension will withdraw all OAS pension applications. If you decide to re-apply for Old Age Security pension in the future, you will have to submit a new application. We will use the date of your new application to determine your eligibility and the effective date.
View previous changes submitted online
To view a list of previous changes submitted online, select "Profile" on your OAS dashboard, then select “Previous changes submitted online”. Selecting a previously changed online submission will direct you to the summary page of changes that was submitted online.
Note: No changes can be done on this page. To make changes, you must select which information you want to change from the “Profile” on your OAS dashboard.
How to submit and view your documents online
Submit supporting documents
You can upload supporting documents related to:
- marital relationship
- identification
- names
- birth; and
- death benefits
To submit supporting documents, select the benefit you want to upload documents for under the “Your document(s)” section of your OAS dashboard.
Note: Supporting documents required to complete an application can be found under the “Follow up item(s)” section on your OAS dashboard.
This service is only available for:
- application for OAS pension
- application for GIS benefit
- application for ALW and ALWS benefits, and
- some personal information change
Submit a request for reconsideration
If you disagree with a decision about your pension application, you can ask Service Canada to reconsider the decision.
To submit your request online, select “If you disagree with a decision” on your OAS dashboard, then select “Request for reconsideration” under “Step 1”.
Submit an appeal to the Social Security Tribunal of Canada
If you disagree with the new reconsideration decision from Service Canada, you can appeal it to the Social Security Tribunal (SST). The SST is an independent administrative tribunal. It’s separate from Service Canada.
To appeal to the SST online, select “If you disagree with a decision” on your OAS dashboard, then select “Appeal to the SST" under "Step 2".
How to access your OAS tax slips information in MSCA
View, save and print your OAS tax slips
If you received OAS benefits this year or in the last 6 years, you can view, save and print an official copy of your T4A(OAS)/NR4-OAS in MSCA.
Printing the screen as it appears in the application is not considered an official copy. To obtain an official document recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency, select “Print” to download or print a PDF version (Adobe Acrobat). This document can be attached to your income tax return.
To get your tax slips in MSCA, select “Tax slips” on your OAS dashboard.
For any other tax slips (such as T3, T4, T4RIF, T4RSP, T5, T5007 or T5008), visit CRA My Account for individuals or contact the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Exceptions: Tax slips unavailable in MSCA
- You have a new Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- If you recently obtained a new SIN, you will not be able to view any tax slips issued under your previous SIN in MSCA. Contact us to request copies by mail.
- Your tax slips will not be available in MSCA and will be mailed to you if:
- your OAS tax slip changed
- your benefit amount is negative (you were overpaid, with the overpayment exceeding the total benefits paid for the tax year)
- you received the one-time payment for older seniors
- you received OAS benefits, resulting from one of our social security agreements with another country, and meet any of these conditions:
- your benefit amount is negative (you were overpaid, with the overpayment exceeding the total benefits paid for the tax year)
- you have an overpayment with another government program, for example the CRA or Veterans Affairs
Change the delivery option for your tax slips
You can choose to receive your tax slips online or by mail. To change your delivery option, select "Change my tax slip delivery options" on your MSCA dashboard or select “Change my tax slip delivery” from the “View tax slips” page.
If you chose to receive your tax slips online, you will not:
- receive them by mail, or
- be notified when they are available in MSCA.
Deadline for changing the delivery option for your tax slips
You must change your delivery option before December 31. If you update your choice later, the change will only take effect the following year.
Tax slips delivery schedule
Electronic tax slips for the current tax year are available in MSCA as early as February 1 of each year.
Paper tax slips are mailed by the end of February of each year. Ensure that your mailing address is correct in MSCA before January 1 of the same year.
Amended tax slips
Your tax slips may be amended after they are issued. Amended OAS tax slips are not available in MSCA, they will be mailed it to you.
Accessing tax slips on behalf of someone else
You cannot access the tax slip online services in MSCA if you are:
- a registered trustee
- a guardian
- another legal representative taking care of a client's financial affairs
You can complete transactions on another person's behalf by mail, by telephone or in person only.
