Statistics on the Access to Information and Privacy Acts

Each year, Treasury Board Secretariat collects and publishes statistical data about the Government of Canada’s access to information and privacy programs. The data includes key information such as:

  • Requests received during the identified period;
  • Requests completed or carried forward to the next period;
  • Exemptions and exclusions invoked;
  • Time required to complete requests, including extensions;
  • Number of pages reviewed;
  • Fees charged to the requester; and
  • Program costs.

Aggregated information from 1998 to the present is also presented. Statistical data from 2006-07 to the present is also available in an open format (HTML, CSV or XML) as part of the Government’s commitment to open government.
