The Government of Canada’s progress on environmental indicators

As part of its Greening Government Strategy, the Government of Canada will enhance the climate resilience of its operations by 2035. It will also reduce environmental impacts beyond carbon due to waste generation and water consumption, in line with its goal for net-zero emissions operations by 2050.

The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory and the Open Government portal provide information about greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from federal facilities and fleets. The Government of Canada’s progress on greening procurement shows progress on the transition to a net-zero, circular economy through green procurement. This includes the use of life-cycle assessment principles and the adoption of clean technologies and green products and services.
