General damages claims and payments
Current and retired employees: sign up for email notifications about your pension and benefits, and to be notified when new details on the claims process are available.
Eligible current employees have received general compensation payments in the form of lump sum payments or leave credits.

Some employees who received leave credits will receive additional catch-up payments in September 2021.

Former employees, represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC)
A claims process for general compensation payments will be available in December 2021. To receive compensation, you will need to submit a claim. A single application is in development to allow you to submit claims for all general damages compensation you are entitled to.

Claims processes will be available in the coming months for eligible current and former employees represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada.

Expenses and reimbursement
All current and former employees, regardless of employment term or classification, can submit a claim for eligible financial impacts or expenses incurred due to the Phoenix pay system. These claims include:
- out-of-pocket expenses
- impacts on your income taxes and benefits
- reimbursement for tax advice
- requests for an advance for government benefits
Your organization’s claims officer can answer your questions and guide you through the claims process.
Report a problem with your pay
Outstanding pay issues related to the Phoenix pay system cannot be addressed through a claims process. If you have issues with your pay, follow the existing process to report a problem.
