Next of kin travel for a deceased military member

In the event of the death of a Canadian Armed Forces member, the identified next of kin(s) may be reimbursed for travel and living expenses to attend funeral functions.
The funeral and burial functions are:
- a military repatriation ceremony
- a military funeral for the deceased
- an interment for the deceased
- a military memorial service
- meetings of a Board of Inquiry (BOI) into the circumstances of the death
Who is eligible
The maximum number of next of kins who are entitled for reimbursement is:
- 14 for a military repatriation ceremony
- 14 for a military funeral
- 14 for an interment
- 6 for a military memorial service
- 2 for meetings of a Board of Inquiry
