My Service Canada Account: How to register with GCKey

This page provides you with the information you need to register for My Service Canada Account (MSCA) with GCKey. Please make sure to read and understand the below steps before you start your registration. Once you are ready, click the Start now button at the bottom of the page.

A GCKey is a unique electronic credential issued by the Government of Canada for use with online Government services. To use GCKey to access MSCA you must:

1- Sign up for GCKey (if you don’t have it)

If you do not have a GCKey, you must sign up for one as part of your MSCA registration with GCKey. If you have forgotten an existing GCKey user ID you will need to create a new one.

2- Verify your identity

Once you have signed in with GCKey, you will be presented with 2 options to help verify your identity:

Use Verified.Me Recommended

The Verified.Me option will allow you to register for MSCA in a quicker and safer way. To help verify your identity using this option, you must use your online banking information. You must consent that your financial institution will share basic personal information with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
