How to change your administrative information in Health Canada's Cannabis Tracking and Licensing System (CTLS). This includes licence holder names and contact information.

Licence holder name
Type of change: Licence holder name or site address
Requires approval from Health Canada
The licence holder name is your official name. You should use it for any activities relating to cannabis. This includes advertising and shipping documents.
Important: If you're changing the licence holder name due to a change in ownership, you need to submit a change to the licence ownership.
Use this section to change the name:
- of an individual licence holder, such as in the case of a legal name change
- of a corporation, partnership or cooperative licence holder, including:
- changing from a numbered company to a named company
- adding an "operating as" or "doing business as" name
For corporate profiles
Change the name in the corporate profile before you submit your licence holder name change request.
If the corporate profile has multiple licences, the responsible person for each licence will need to submit a change request to change the licence holder name afterwards.
Required information
Description of change section
- Document containing a brief description of the change and the reason for the change. For example:
- there's a change to the legal business name because of amended articles of incorporation
- I want to add a Doing Business As name to my legal name and would like it to appear on my licence. The new licence holder name should be 'Legal corporation name DBA Business name'
Certificate of incorporation section
- Document that supports the name change for a:
- corporation (certificate of incorporation, amalgamation or amendment)
- partnership or cooperative (updated agreement documents)
- person (legal name change certificate or marriage certificate)
If you're adding an "operating as" or "doing business as" name, you don't need to upload any documents to this section. However, your local jurisdiction may have requirements.
Record keeping description
You don't need to upload any documents in this section.
Notices to local authorities
Send notices to local authorities within 30 days of receiving the modified licence.
Organizational security plan
You need to update your organizational security plan within 5 days of making the change and email Health Canada.

Site or building address
Type of change request: Licence holder name or site address
Requires approval from Health Canada
Licences are site specific and can't be transferred to a new address. If you want to change the location of your site, you must apply for a new cannabis licence.
You may need to change your address if the city or municipality is changing the address of your site or building.
Note: You may also need to change your mailing address in the CTLS.

Phone number, email address or fax number
Type of change request: In your individual account or corporate profile

You can change your phone number, email address or fax number in your CTLS:
- individual account for individual licence holders
- corporate profile for corporation, cooperative or partnerships
The information will automatically update.
Licence ownership, mergers and acquisitions
This section is for making changes to the ownership of your licence. This includes:
- mergers
- acquisitions
- other changes that may impact the ownership of your licence
In most cases, licences aren't transferable, even for mergers and acquisitions. Licences are issued to an individual or corporation at a specific site based on their physical security measures, security clearances for key personnel and good production practices. Changing the ownership of your licence may require both:
- revoking your licence
- submitting a new licence application
