How to change your administrative information in Health Canada's Cannabis Tracking and Licensing System (CTLS). This includes licence holder names and contact information.

Licence holder name

Type of change: Licence holder name or site address

Requires approval from Health Canada

The licence holder name is your official name. You should use it for any activities relating to cannabis. This includes advertising and shipping documents.

Important: If you're changing the licence holder name due to a change in ownership, you need to submit a change to the licence ownership.

For corporate profiles

Change the name in the corporate profile before you submit your licence holder name change request.

If the corporate profile has multiple licences, the responsible person for each licence will need to submit a change request to change the licence holder name afterwards.

You need to update your organizational security plan within 5 days of making the change and email Health Canada.

Licences are site specific and can't be transferred to a new address. If you want to change the location of your site, you must apply for a new cannabis licence.

You may need to change your address if the city or municipality is changing the address of your site or building.

Note: You may also need to change your mailing address in the CTLS.

Licences are issued to an individual or corporation at a specific site based on their physical security measures, security clearances for key personnel and good production practices.
