If you're 18 to 35 (18 to 30 in some countries), come work and travel in Canada through International Experience Canada (IEC)! It's a government program designed to help you
- gain valuable international work experience
- improve your language skills in English and French
- work in Canada and fund the trip of a lifetime
Who can apply
2025 IEC season closing
The final round of invitations for all remaining pools will happen the week of October 20, 2025. You must submit your profile before 9 a.m. Eastern Time on October 20, 2025, to be considered for the 2025 season.
If you receive your invitation to apply before the season closes or have started your work permit application, you can still complete and submit your work permit application.
Check the rounds of invitations for key dates and to find out how many spots are available.
If you’re in Canada with a valid letter of introduction (LOI):
- You may be able to get your IEC work permit mailed to a Canadian address if you meet certain requirements.
- If you don’t meet these requirements, you must leave Canada after you get your port of entry LOI and re-enter from a country other than the US or Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon to activate your work permit.
