Who can apply
2025 IEC season closed
The pools for the 2025 season are closed.
If you received an invitation to apply (ITA)
You can still complete and submit your work permit application.
If you didn’t receive an ITA for the 2025 season
Your profile will be removed from the pool. You can create a new profile when the pools reopen for the 2026 season. Your account and GCkey are still valid. You don’t need to create a new account or sign up for a new GCkey.
If you’re in Canada with a valid letter of introduction (LOI)
- You may be able to get your IEC work permit mailed to a Canadian address if you meet certain requirements.
- If you don’t meet these requirements, you must leave Canada after you get your port of entry LOI and re-enter from a country other than the US or Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon to activate your work permit.
