Performance Appraisal

As a CAF member, you are subject to a yearly performance appraisal cycle which runs from 1 April to 31 March. Performance appraisals occur via the Performance and Competency Evaluation (PaCE) digital system. They are based on a job description, a member aspiration profile, feedback notes, and a performance appraisal report.

The Defence Learning Network (DLN) is the DND/CAF’s learning platform. This Network offers training to help you learn about the PaCE system, performance appraisals, job descriptions, member aspiration profiles, feedback, and your responsibilities within the performance approval process. Depending on your role in the process, you may need to complete one or more of the six DLN courses. In addition to introductory training and refresher training, tailored courses are available for supervisors, managers, intermediary reviewers, reviewing officers, and higher-level review ranks.
