Career development
To ensure Canada's public health workforce is equipped with the most up-to-date knowledge and skills—and to help practitioners train for a specialization in public health—the Public Health Agency of Canada provides opportunities for professional development, training and continuous learning.
Field epidemiology training
Through placements at public health organizations across the country, Canadian Field Epidemiology Program participants master the competencies required to respond to urgent public health issues of local, national or international concern.
Public health officer placements
The Canadian Public Health Service (CPHS) enhances Canada's public health capacity by helping practitioners become qualified public health officers (PHOs) and by placing those PHOs in jurisdictions across Canada to respond to both routine and emerging public health needs.
